Introduction
Nestled in the heart of Silicon Valley, Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) is a high tech commercial bank that prides itself on supporting businesses that “invent the future.” With over 29 offices around the world, SVB has helped fund more than 30,000 startups.
As a SVB client, Bevi had the opportunity to pitch the bank its flavored, sparkling smart water machine and all-in-one service. Jim Regan, the Regional Workplace and Facilities Manager, was particularly interested in the innovative, data-driven aspects of the machine.
Before having Bevi, the smart water machine, in their office, SVB’s hydration stations consisted of a water filter at the kitchen sink and bottled water for purchase in the cafeteria. Although they were helping their clients innovate the world, they were in need of some beverage innovation.
Solution
SVB ultimately decided to bring Bevi to their office in an effort to provide a wider variety of healthy options for employees in the break room. The smart water machine was an attractive, easily managed perk that provided multiple beverage options in a small amount of space. “We wanted to have amenities that would match what other companies in Silicon Valley were offering,” said Jim. “Above all, we wanted to create a nice environment for people to work in.”
Benefits
Jim’s favorite thing about Bevi is that it keeps his employees happy, healthy and hydrated! As SVB’s facilities manager, he says that anything he can bring to the company that will put a smile on the employees’ faces is great. The office loves the new water dispenser because it’s eye-catching, healthy and high tech. SVB had previously gotten rid of a vending service because of their repetitive offerings. With Bevi, however, employees could try new flavors all the time and, in Jim’s words, “get something great every day.”
Bevi also fits in well with SVB’s company-wide ‘vitality program.’ This health and wellness initiative includes organized outdoor activities and fitness competitions, as well as provisional hydration stations around the office. Jim explains that the Bevi machine is the perfect amenity because it’s more interesting than plain tap water and just as healthy. In fact, Bevi has helped SVB employees cut down on soda consumption because they can get their sparkling, flavored water fix without the high fructose corn syrup.
Striving to improve the company’s sustainability practices nationwide, Jim has expanded Bevi’s presence beyond the Mountain View office. He’s since installed Bevi’s smart water machines in several offices across the nation and has plans to install four more early next year.
